Glitz and Glam meet budget diva

Yep, my idea of the big day is something modern, vintage, gatsby-glam and chic...but yet very budget friendly. Now I know you're thinking "Sasha, you're crazy! Modern and Vintage?? what?", but yes lovelies, it is possible. And "budget-friendly Sasha? Really now?", yep that too! I dream big, and I've always dreamed within means of what I can create right now too.

Here's how I am looking at the big day

Palette:

Gold/Champagne, White, Chartreuse

Aren't those colors just lovely?? I have a love affair with all things shiny bright gold and lustful champagne. I green up in love with chartreuse green, just love how vibrant and happy it is, and a soft decadence of white, with hints of sophisticated black? How could I not swoon?

My idea is to incorporate all these colors into something elegant, chic and fun.

My Fave Theme Ideas

Ok lovelies, that's all I'm spilling for now... Coming up soon will be budget and spending.. I mean, I want to be happy forever, not dreading my special day and regretful, so my budget is at a minimum..and I know the decor and day will be fabulous regardless! Stay tuned!

How many days till showtime?

Oh me, oh my! I would have never imagine time to fly by so quickly. I have a confession, I am a little scatter brained concerning this wedding. Infact, future hubs and I didn't decide on a date till say April of this year, and even then it wasn't set in stone. Being that we are both, capital Broke Phi Broke {we sure don't got it!}, we didn't want to say yes to a date and have it all fall through. {Technically speaking it's still not set in stone, because we got some things to work out first before we can nail it in stone}.

But then, it dawned on me. We're not having a bajillion folks at our wedding, and we really are doing this mostly DIY, so why stress? Yes you want it to be presentable, but really, who cares what others think? Don't get me wrong, I care that the day will be beautiful and flawless, but I also care that I won't sell my arms, legs and kidneys in the process to get it.

Now, as I look at the calendar I see time is truly upon us, and we're a bit behind then. I designed some save-the-dates and invitations, but nothing has been printed yet. However, because we are definitely on a strict budget I figure we could try something different...

I introduce to you, the digital era. I came across Appy Couple a good while back and signed up even before marriage was a real thought, and I am glad I did. I revisited the app recently and figured I like the idea of a digital Save the Date {still not sure about my invites just yet}. I'll show you a  sneak peek at the custom SVDs at some point later.

So tell me fellow brides to be, are there any planning things that just have you in a frenzy?

The start of something chic...

...and beautiful, but altogether hectic. Yes DCBs! It's your wedding day, and the planning is rather hectic, but just think the outcome and marriage there after will be beautiful.

Meet Shae
Hi! I'm Sasha-Shae, a future bride-to-be and this is my way of chronicling and sharing DIY Chic Bride tips, budget savvy planning, decor diy, food diy and much more for every bride who wants something chic and fabulous but frugally fantastic.

My Bridal Story
I am not the average bride, infact I didn't grow up picturing myself as a bride at all. Yes I loved princess stories {some, not all}, but seeing myself as a bride let alone a wife, was honestly never a thought. However God saw it fit to provide me with someone that loves me beyond my greatest expectation, someone who would  see me through my roughest moments and still stand in my band, he saw fit to give me my Mr. {whom will be referred to as Mr. Twist or Le Twist on this blog}.

Why I created DIY Chic Bride

Ever felt extra nervous, but excited and anxious and impatient at the same time? Yep?! That's me, but to top it off, I have to add must-stay-in-xyz-budget, can't buy everything, must do tons of DIY and still appease my taste of fabulously chic...thus the blog was born. I refuse to be a bride in debt thanks to a wedding, I refuse to spend thousands on a wedding that lasts a day, I rather spend that on a marriage that lasts a lifetime.

The aim of DCB is to give hope, inspiration and affirmation to fellow DIY Chic Brides out there.

Signing off: your head DCB in chief!
